A$AP ROCKY: Sweden Says No

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • Maybe next time.
  • If Kanye and Sunday Service can pop up at an American prison, why can't Rocky and friends play in Sweden?
  • We're still waiting to hear a status update on those uniforms he reportedly designed for for the prison population.
  • I'm kind of surprised he wants to go back to the country at all after the experience he had.

Sweden has said no to A$AP Rocky.

The Harlem rapper was hoping to perform at the Swedish prison where he spent a month over the summer. He’s already set to head back to the country for a concert on December 11th to benefit prisoners and prison reform. At some point, the idea came up of performing for the inmates at the Kronoberg prison. But the country’s Prison and Probation Service says logistical and security concerns make the performance impossible.

Rocky saw it coming, even though officials said they were open to it at first. They didn’t spell out specifics for the rejection, but it seems like Rocky might be too popular -- “high occupancy” was one concern. Another issue might be that he planned to bring 11 additional performers and crew members with him, plus four to five camera guys to film the whole thing. Probably the biggest problem was that the request came just days before the proposed show.
