Stop Nagging Me!

Let's keep it real, relationships aren't easy. Heck, they take a lot of work and it doesn't help if you have a mate that nags in your ear 24/7.

In this Strawberry Letter, a woman writes to Shirley and Steve to express how much her husband complains. She writes in to say he complains so much that "he acts more like the wife in their marriage" and she doesn't want to be intimate with him anymore. Yikes!

Let's take a look:

Dear Steve and Shirley,

I'm a 32 year old wife and mother. My husband and I have three children. When I first met my husband seven years ago, he was kind, loving, protective and the sex was amazing. After we got married, he started complaining about everything. All he does now is complain like a woman. I came home from work and he starts complaining. I visit family, he complains. If I don't do things the way he do them, he complains. He sends me long text messages at least once a week to complain about something. It has gotten to the point that I don't want to be intimate with him at all because he complains about that too. When we argue it's because he's nagging me about something, but I am the one that always apologizes afterwards. He always tells me that he doesn't feel appreciated. Steve and Shirley I try my best. I cook. I clean. I take care of our home, work and take care of him and the kids the best I can. He often reminds me that the Bible says to submit to my husband because he is the head of the house. He acts more like the wife in our marriage. I don't know what more I can do. He is a complainer and a nagger and I'm sick of his mood swings. I'm trying to stay true to him, but he is pushing me away. I appreciate any advice you can offer. Mood swings.

First of all, this is a complete turn off no matter if you're a man or a woman. However, it does cause my eyebrows to be raised a bit simply because he is a man. Nagging is more so what you hear women do. It makes me wonder if this man was raised by a woman?

With so many of our young men being raised in single parent households without a male role model in sight, they can't help but pick up on some feminine traits. Unfortunately, this nagging may be on of them.

What do you think?
