Road Rage Escalates at Naples Dunkin' as Man Pulls Gun on Driver

Naples, FL - An argument over reckless driving at a Southwest Florida Dunkin' Donuts led to a man being arrested for pulling a gun on another driver.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office (CCSO), deputies were called to a Dunkin' on Preserve Lane on Wednesday regarding reports of a disturbance involving a firearm.

Investigators say 58-year-old Gary Anderson was a passenger in a car driven by his wife when they encountered another vehicle driving recklessly on Immokalee Road.

The Andersons followed the car to the Dunkin' parking lot, where Anderson exited to photograph the vehicle's license plate.

An argument ensued between Anderson and the other driver.

CCSO reports that Anderson, feeling threatened, lifted his shirt and placed his hand on a gun tucked in his waistband.

The victim, fearing for his safety, returned to his car and contacted police.

While the victim was on the phone with authorities, Anderson allegedly continued to brandish the weapon.

Upon arrival, deputies detained Anderson and recovered a handgun holstered on his waist.

He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
