Nurses protest lack of PPE

Registered nurses are protesting outside hospitals in Florida and several other states demanding optimal personal protective equipment for those on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.

Louella Ellis- an RN at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford- says they've had to resort to reusing masks-

"We don't know who in the hospital may or may not be carrying this and this is something we need to do to protect ourselves and our community and our family," Ellis said, "and most of all our other patients."

Ellis says they desperately need masks and other head-to-toe coverings and protective powered air purifying respirators.

"There have been documentaries about the presence of a plague that would eventually come. The United States should have known what was coming. Our hospitals should have known what was coming and should have been better prepared."
