Trial Delayed For Alleged Mar-a-Lago Trespasser

US-POLITICS-TRUMP

A delay in the trial for a Chinese woman accused of trespassing at President Trump's Palm Beach estate.

Yujing Zhang was scheduled to go on trial next week, but a federal judge has postponed the start date until September 3 to allow her more time to prepare a defense.

The 33-year old fired her public defenders in June and told the judge yesterday that she had been too sick to prepare for trial. The judge accused Zhang of trying to play games at a court hearing.

The woman again turned down an offer from the judge to reinstate the public defenders when it appeared she didn't understand basic legal procedures. She also complained of being dizzy and appeared to stare into space at times.

Zhang allegedly lied to gain access to Mar-a-Lago back in March and was carrying a thumb drive with malware, four cell phones and two Chinese passports.

Among the items found during a search of her hotel room was a device that detects hidden cameras.
