Keith "Cowboy" Wiggins was born; September 20th, 1960

Wiggins was first member recruited to Furious Five by his friend Grandmaster Flash in 1978. He was a dancer and hype man for the band often using call and response style as a pioneer to communicate with listeners. In 1983 he left the group and joined Melle Mel with whom he recorded a single White Lines (Don't Don't Do It) and then album Grandmaster Melle Mel & the Furious Five in 1985.

He has been credited with coining the term "hip hop"[2] in 1978 while teasing a friend who had just joined the US Army by scat singing the made-up words "hip/hop/hip/hop" in a way that mimicked the rhythmic cadence of marching soldiers. Cowboy later worked the "hip hop" cadence into his stage performance.[3][4] -wikipedia

The word below are from the legendary  Roosevelt Dmite Simmons  (of the Furious 5)

He is Legend. He accomplished so much in so little time. He founded the greatest group to ever grace our Culture . Gave Hip Hop it's name. And left us with timeless classics that will live on in the annals of Hip Hop and American history long after were all gone. Keith Cowboy. Legend.

Dude was incredible to see. Not only did he coin the phrase Hip Hop He is also hands down responsible for the call and response style all Rappers use to this day. Throw your hands in the air and wavem like you just dont care? Cowboy. He just had a knack for making crowds move and a reputation that proceeded him. I remember once we were somewhere in Texas and when Cowboy came out the roar that erupted from that crowd was one of the loudest receptions any of us had ever heard. We was like well we know who gettin all the pussy tonight dont we. And sure enough Cowboy left the arena wit the finest Navaho Indian girl you ever saw. Cowboys and Indians. Only Keith Cowboy.

Im honored to have known him. We were closer than blood brothers. He hands down saved my life. I was on a path of destruction that would have lead me to death or jail. He saw something in me way back then that i didnt even see in myself yet. And he came on the block one day and said, you cant keep doin this. You so much better than this. We gone take you on tour and you can come work for us. Started out as a roadie carrying bags learned this business and here I sit today running my own businesses, ran Furious 5 Ent for many years after you were gone till Scorp got on my last nerve and I saw they didn’t believe in me or themselves anymore. Kidd Creole is incarcerated Rahiem is well. He’s Rahiem and everybody else is for self. There is no more Furious 5. That’s over and done with. They died when you did. But I managed to revive Nice and Smooths iconic brand in Europe. And I still book shows all over the world Amazing how much a friendship can mold ones life. I Love Dude For That.

For those who have lost any of their loved ones, or friends. As a matter of fact, nobody ever dies. Because they’re gonna live inside everybody who ever knew them. Everyone they ever touched, no matter how little. And the people who love them, their families and friends, they’re never going to stop thinking about them or talking about them. They’re never gonna die because they were loved and they loved. They’re going to live forever in your heart, as death doesn’t put an end to love.” Happy Birthday My Brother. Best Friend. The Founder and Fearless leader of The Furious 5. I will never let em forget you. The Legend. Keith Cowboy. R.I.P -
