Hip Hop culture is a beautiful thing. We should have all heard the story of DJ Kool Herc throwing a party on Aug. 11, 1973 at 1520 Sedgwick Ave in the Bronx, NY. That date is what many considered the birth of "Hip Hop" as Kool Herc played the 'break' sections of certain records and used two turntables to extend or 'loop' the break for a longer period of time. The legendary Grandmaster Flash wants to set the record straight on who created the 'loop'.
In his "A Letter To DJ Kool Herc" he tells Herc that he wants to sit down and talk so they can "...set the record straight"
"A Letter to DJ Kool Herc: there is so much confusion on who created the loop. Help me set the record straight. #hiphop" -Grandmaster Flash
