Prodigy, one half of the iconic rap duo Mobb Deep, has passed away at age 42...

I remember getting the 1st Mobb Deep album in the mail back in the day.... I remember getting and playing both Shook Ones Pt 1 and Pt 2 on the white label 12"..... The 1st major show I booked was Mobb Deep (on the Source Van Tour) here in Tampa. It was at Club Heaven (the old 911) Downtown Tampa. My good friend Edwin Velez helped me hook it up. The Source Van made it, but unfortunately Mobb Deep's flight was cancelled due to a Hurricane hitting Florida that weekend. Years later, I would link with Mobb Deep and was blessed to open for them as a DJ, on more than one occasion....
A sad day for Hip Hop....
