(Tallahassee, FL) -- A nationwide mental health hotline is launching this week. Florida health advocates are hoping they are prepared for a surge of callers.
People can dial 9-8-8 for help with suicide prevention, emotional well-being or substance abuse at all hours of the day.
Advocates say about 20-percent of current 9-1-1 calls fall under these categories preventing police from focusing on local crime. The nationwide lifeline launches this Saturday.
