Scary-Looking Spider Expected to Spread to Much of the East Coast

According to researchers, an invasive species of Joro spider the size of a child's hand is expected to “colonize” the entire East Coast this spring by parachuting down from the sky. According to a Georgia resident, "this spider is an apex insect and nothing hunts them so they go from 1 or 2 to a couple thousand all having their own nests. Absolute nightmare walking down trails here in Georgia."

The good news is they are harmless and will eat mosquitoes.
