SZA caught a serious case of the waterworks after hearing what could be a new Lizzo song.
The โBroken Clocksโ singer-songwriter recently took to Twitter to tease โthe best songโ sheโs ever heard, admitting that the listening experience made her teary-eyed โ and it seems like the โTruth Hurtsโ hitmaker may be to blame.
โLizzo really [just] played me the best song I ever heard in my life,โ SZA tweeted on Monday (January 18). โIโm crying lmao like really."
Although SZA didnโt confirm that the mystery song was in fact one of Lizzoโs, fans are really excited to hear it. โLizzo got music coming omg weโre saved,โ one Twitter user responded, as another fan implored, โAsk her to drop a snippet pls Iโm begging.โ
Itโs no secret that Lizzo and SZA are pretty cool with each other. As fans will recall, the songbirds led a virtual meditation session via Instagram Live amid the turbulent and emotional events of 2020.
As far as new music goes, Lizzo released her last studio album, Cuz I Love You, in 2019. The record spawned hits like โJuice,โ โGood As Hell,โ and the title track. At the 2020 Grammys, the LP was nominated for Album of the Year and took home Best Urban Contemporary Album.
While Lizzo has yet to formally share details of the sound of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, SZA recently dropped โGood Daysโ on Christmas Day in 2020. The TDE artist also lightly detailed her sophomore album for Cosmopolitan earlier this year. โThis album is going to be the sโt that made me feel something in my...here and in here," SZA told the mag, pointing to her heart. "Thatโs whatโs going to go on the album. Iโm making all different types of sโt every day from different places in my spirit.โ
