Rubio Addresses High School Sports And Affects On Children

Because we can't escape from the coronavirus, Florida Senator Marco Rubio says we must find ways to open schools and play sports amid the pandemic.

In a Twitter video, Senator Marco Rubio said everything should be done to lower the risks for students, their families, teachers and staff.

Rubio says without school or sports, more kids will get into trouble or be exposed to the virus in environments that aren't controlled.

He said there are real dangers to keeping kids out of school, including social isolation, learning loss, unidentified child abuse, and he fears a spike in juvenile crime.

School districts need to find safe ways to get kids back in the classroom and student athletes back on the field.

Many Florida school districts plan to start the year with online-only learning.
