Those most severely affected by the coronavirus may benefit from a new treatment option at UM Hospital.
Patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and on ventilators are being given RLF-100.
If successful, the IV treatment will allow patients to breathe on their own and get off the ventilator.
UM Hospital is the only one in the country trying this treatment, and one doctor says it's too soon to draw any conclusions.
