The incident happened earlier this month on October 3rd. Reportedly Christobal Lopez came into the store with his father. As his dad was making a purchase, the owner of the Vets Army & Navy Surplus, Michael Dunn, claims he saw the homeless man steal hatchet. When Dunn, who’s been a Lakeland City Commissioner since January, confronted Lopez, the 50-year-old tried to leave. Dunn then fired, killing him.
