The Queen of Soul laid in a different casket from the 1st day of the public viewing at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. Rather than wearing the red dress with matching pumps in a gold-plated casket, Aretha Franklin was dressed in a powder blue dress with matching shoes in a bronze casket. On the inside of the lid, embroidered into the fabric is: “Aretha Franklin the Queen of Soul.”
A concet & memorial will be held tonight in Detroit to honor the legend and the funeral is tomorrow (Friday.)
R.I.P Aretha Franklin.
