Here Come the Fuel Tankers after Irma

TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Fuel tankers are arriving in Port Tampa Bay, and officials hope they'll make a dent in our Post-Irma gasoline shortage.

Port Tampa Bay officials say the first of 10 petroleum ships is due to arrive around 5 Tuesday afternoon. Nine more are expected before nightfall Thursday. Fuel tankers have been given top priority for docking. The port has been open 24-7 assisting tanker truck operations since Monday morning.

Meantime, the Carnival Paradise cruise ship is also due in the next 48 hours. The Royal Caribbean Empress arrival has been postponed until September 18th.
