A&E is set to air two separate documentaries about The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac. According to Rolling Stone, the two specials will air next month, in June.
Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. is a two-part series that features interviews from people who were close to the late rapper such as his mother, Voletta Wallace, Faith Evans, Diddy, Nas, Jay Z, Lil Cease and more. The series will also have "archival footage and audio recordings from Christopher Wallace's life," Rolling Stone claims. Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. will air on June 28 and June 29.
Who Killed Tupac? is a six-part documentary that investigates the killing of Pac. It begins on June 29, as well. In this series, civil rights lawyer Benjamin Crump -- who went to high school with Pac's mom, Afeni -- examines the circumstances surrounding late rapper's passing. Crump also compares these circumstances to the deaths of Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown.
“The late Christopher Wallace and Tupac Shakur continue to impact the world two decades after their tragic, unsolved murders and there is still a public longing to connect with these figures,” said A&E's Elaine Frontain.
The lives of Pac and Biggie continue to interest people twenty years after they left the earth. Tupac's All Eyez On Me movie to set to hit theaters on June 16, the deceased MC's birthday. Moreover, Johnny Depp will reportedly star in a Biggie Smalls biopic that's based on the Labyrinth book; Steve McQueen will reportedly be directing another Pac documentary separate from A&E's; and the USA Network has ordered a true crime series about the deaths Pac and Biggie called Unsolved.
