Lindsay, the 33-year-old attorney from Dallas, Texas, was announced as the first black star of the dating show in February. And as Gossip Cop reported, Lindsay’s “Bachelorette” contestants, who will compete for her love and affection during the 13th season of the series, were revealed last week. Before her highly-anticipated debut on tonight’s show, Lindsay spoke to the “GMA” panel during a live segment on the morning show about the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette.”

On her engagement, which was revealed before the season premiere, she said, “I’m engaged! I’m so excited, I’m so happy.” Typically, the bachelor or bachelorette keeps all aspects of the show completely private, but Lindsay couldn’t help but announce the exciting news. “I just couldn’t keep it in. So they were like, ‘OK, you can announce it, you can say it’s engaged,'” the star noted.

And on this season’s diverse group of contestants, Lindsay said, “I went to the producers and I said, I date everyone and I don’t have a particular type. I would like the men coming out of the limo on the first night to reflect that. And they did, as you can see.” She continued, “I’m hoping to attract a different audience, so more people will start watching ‘The Bachelorette.'” Watch the full interview above!
