Listen to Bun B on iHeartRadio

UGK rapper Bun B isn't ruling out a future in politics.  Contrary to the word on the street, the Houston-based emcee tells MSNBC's Tamron Hall that he won't run for mayor of Houston in 2015 but might consider a later run for office.

Bun B, born Bernard Freeman,  believes running in the next mayoral election wouldn't be practical because he doesn't have any political experience.  With that said, he adds that if he decided to make the change from rapper to representative of the people, he would "start somewhere in city council" to get the feel of local politics.

Bun B also weighed in on an upcoming New Jersey Supreme Court case that will decide whether rap lyrics composed by a man named Vonte Skinner can be used in court as evidence of his involvement in a shooting.  Bun B explains that if a person incriminates themselves in their lyrics, "then that's their own thing."  However, he adds that problems will arise if authorities sift through a rapper's lyrics to try to find evidence of past crimes.
