BRANDON, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Hillsborough deputies say they are looking for a man who attacked a 62-year-old woman who was walking toward the movie theater at Regency Square in Brandon and tried to steal her purse.

Deputies say the woman has broken bones and numerous bruises.

Officials say it happened Tuesday, July 8, around 5:45 p.m in the lot by the theater located at 2490 W. Brandon Blvd.

Deputies say the suspect knocked the victim to the ground, punched and kicked her, including in the face. They then say he snatched the victim's purse, ran away, and was seen getting into a vehicle heading west on Grand Regency Blvd.

Deputies say the suspect was later captured on video surveillance at nearby department stores, using the victim's credit card.

Suspect: black male, 6'2", 190-200 lbs., 20-26 years of age, goatee, last seen wearing an orange t-shirt with the words "three point layup" on it and black athletic shorts.

Suspect vehicle: 2006-2008 red/maroon Chevrolet impala with dark, tinted windows.
