Posted June 16th, 2014 @ 11:07am

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Tampa Police charged three suspects in an East Tampa homicide case.

30-year-old Jason Newson, 21-year-old Tyrell Mingo and 26-year-old Donnell Mingo all of Tampa were each charged with 2nd Degree Murder for the beat down death of 52-year-old Carlton Reed.

In March, Tampa Police say they found Reed lying on his side in the middle of the 2900 block of 28th Avenue with severe injuries to his upper body. He later died as a result of his injuries, according to TPD.

Detectives identified all three suspects based on these witness statements and evidence at the scene, and according to police, shortly after that the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force started receiving anonymous tips about the suspects' whereabouts which allowed authorities to eventually catch up with the trio.
