ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. (TBO.com) - A suspected prescription-drug dealer was fatally shot by a Pasco sheriff’s detective in Zephyrhills on Tuesday afternoon when narcotics detectives tried to arrest him, the sheriff’s office said.

Jerry Brown, 41, of Lakeland, died after he was shot, the sheriff’s office said. Brown was wanted for selling prescription drugs.

The shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. outside Big Ben Tires, 4128 Gall Blvd., where the detectives had arrived with an arrest warrant for Brown, Sheriff Chris Nocco said.

Nocco also would not reveal details of what led to the shooting or say what connection the suspect had to the business.
