RIVERVIEW, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials say no charges will be filed in the death of a 4-year-old boy attacked by pitbulls. (see attached letter from the SAO)
Sheriff’s officials say detectives met with Hillsborough County State Attorney's office on Friday, July 25, 2014, and it was concluded that there would be no charges in the incident.
Two dogs fatally attacked Logan Shepard Saturday, July 19, in Riverview, deputies said.
Officials say Shepard was found in the front yard of a family member's home along Rhodine Road with two pit bulls standing over him.
Two Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies were approximately 100 yards away at the time conducting an unrelated traffic stop. Upon hearing the screams, sheriff's officials say the two deputies ran to the residence but unfortunately, Logan was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Animal control took the dogs away.
